Gold Coast Peering

Introduction

This document is to advocate the construction of a non commercial peering point on the Gold Coast, similar to those found in many Australian cities. The peering point is to improve the quality of Internet access on the Gold Coast by keeping Gold Coast traffic on the Gold Coast.

The document is written with ISPs in mind but I hope is also relevant to other organisations that provide Internet access, specifically Universities. I have tried to include some basic information (and a glossary) so that the page is accesible to all interested parties.

OK, I'm Interested

If your interested, have comments or want more information please feel free to mail me or better yet join the mailing list. Send mail to gcnap-request@ugh.net.au with the message subscribe or use the web interface.

Once there are a number of interested parties on the mailing list a physical meeting should probably be held to discuss where to go from there.

29/09/01: A Gold Coast peering point is under construction (independent of this proposal). For more information see the GCIX page at Ausbone.
